DPWH Regional Office 13 Director Pol M. Delos Santos said the new road will provide a faster and safer route for farmers transporting their goods to marketplaces.

The 1.125-kilometer concrete road also shortened the travel time of goods from Barangay Antongalon to Barangay Basag in Butuan City.

"This FMR boosts the local economy by providing a faster and cheaper means of transporting agricultural products, which will then encourage our farmers to maximize their outputs all-year round," Delos Santos said.

Echoing the instruction of DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Delos Santos said that the DPWH will carry out the Build Better, More Program to prioritize projects supportive of agricultural productivity that will contribute to the much-needed economic recovery.

The recently completed road project was implemented by the DPWH Butuan City District Engineering Office (DEO).
