Papa Obet gives back this Christmas through his latest single 'Regalo'

Barangay LS 97.1 disc jock Papa Obet releases his newest self-composed Christmas ballad under GMA Music entitled ‘Regalo.’

The song is about what’s going on in people's minds and the feeling as Christmas draws near. It's not about wanting material things, but being in the presence of one’s family, friends, co-workers, or even pets in this season of giving.

Papa Obet is delighted to release another self-written Christmas song this year, “This is my second Christmas song and gusto kong mag-ipon ng Christmas song so masaya talaga ako to release this. Matagal ko na kasi itong naisulat at nalagyan ng tono.”

He also shares his inspiration in writing ‘Regalo,’ “Kung ano 'yung tumatakbo sa isip ng mga tao, kung ano ‘yung nararamdaman nila kapag sumasapit ‘yung Pasko at ano ‘yung feels pag Pasko. Kung ididikit ko ito sa isang specific situation, para ito sa mga OFW. Hindi lang ito for romantic relationship, pwede rin itong relasyon sa pamilya, sa kaibigan, o sa mahalagang bagay na ating tini-treasure. ‘Yung parang last Christmas kasama kita pero ngayon bakit wala ka na, eh ayaw kong makatanggap ng materyal na bagay, ang gusto kong ma-receive ay ikaw, ‘yung presence mo. So ‘yun ang gusto kong ihatid, na importante ‘yung presensya this Christmas kumpara sa materyal na bagay na mare-receive natin.”

Meanwhile, he is excited about the possibility of collaborating with various Kapuso singers; “Malaking bagay sa akin na magkaroon ng isang kanta together with an artist.”
