PHNOM PENH, Cambodia—President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is excited to try the street foods here.
"I'm sure I'll try everything that I can kasi nga first time ko (It's my first time). I’ve never been to Phnom Penh. So yeah, I’m looking forward to that," he told reporters Wednesday night onboard flight PR001.
"I like to travel anyway. So I always end up trying everything," he added.
The President is here for a four-day Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits and Related Summits, where he is expected to express concern on food and energy security, climate change, post-pandemic recovery and the South China Sea as well as his take on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the developments in Myanmar.
Marcos arrived here around 7:45 p.m. (Philippine time) after departing Manila before 5 p.m.
Aside from summits with fellow ASEAN leaders, he is also expected to participate in summits with ASEAN's dialogue partners, including Australia, Canada, China, Japan, India, South Korean and the United States, to review both existing and new areas of cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues.
Before leaving on Sunday, Marcos is scheduled to meet the Filipino community here.
