Lixil announces winners and continuing support of the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2022-23

Lixil’s Grohe and American Standard brands celebrate industry excellence at the International Property Awards and reaffirm support with signing of new three-year sponsorship

Lixil, maker of pioneering water and housing products, announced the winners of the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2022-23 through its sponsor brands Grohe and American Standard at the International Property Awards (IPA) live gala event in London. The Asia Pacific Property Awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement in the architecture, interior design, real estate and property development sectors in the region. Lixil also reaffirmed its support of the IPA through the signing a new three-year sponsorship.

The Asia Pacific Property Awards are one of the biggest and most recognized awards in the industry with over 1,200 entries received from countries across the region. Sponsored by Lixil Asia through its power brands Grohe and American Standard for the fourth year, the Asia Pacific Property Awards is the largest branch of the IPA.

The IPA winners are judged rigorously by over 100 of their peers and industry experts on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability. Winners are held up as industry role models for their commitment to excellence and hard work.

The live IPA event was greeted with enthusiasm from winners and participants after a hiatus of two years, as pandemic travel restrictions eased across much of the world. Attendees had the opportunity to network and were treated to an exclusive Lixil showcase booth of the latest American Standard and Grohe bathroom products and solutions. This year’s edition saw a total of 594 winners from across the Asia Pacific in the Architecture, Interior Design, Real Estate, and Property Development categories.

China garnered the highest number of awards (273) followed by Thailand (55). This was closely followed by Singapore (32). Other important markets including Australia (31), India (23), the Philippines (23), and Indonesia (15), also made a mark at this year’s awards.

Lixil celebrates with Asia Pacific Property Award winners.

Satoshi Konagai, leader, Lixil Water Technology, Asia Pacific, said, “Lixil is honored to be a partner and headline sponsor for the fourth consecutive year of the International Property Awards. Our partnership continues to beneficially highlight the outstanding work and talent of the best developers, architects, and designers across the Asia Pacific. Our congratulations go out to all the winners on their well-deserved success. As the region pivots to a post-pandemic world, consumers are increasingly spending more time in their homes and the bathroom has become a private retreat from the outside world. As consumers take better care of their health and wellbeing the bathroom is no longer a space purely dedicated to the everyday function of hygiene. The region’s property industry will need to address this macro trend and the additional challenge to reimagine and optimize multi-functional spaces from existing rooms. In all these areas, Lixil is working closely with the industry and greater community to create and introduce innovative and pioneering products that address consumer needs.”

Hermie Limbo, country leader, Philippines, Lixil Water Technologies APAC, added, "Congratulations to the 23 award winners of the IPA from the Philippines, five of which earned the Five Stars, the highest level of country awards, namely Hirsch Bedner Associates, PDP Architects and LPPA Architecture Planning and Design, and Atelier Almario Corp. We thank our winners for once again bringing honor to our country through this industry recognition that will further elevate their stature in their respective fields to bring in more business opportunities. As a brand that aims to make better homes for everyone, everywhere, Lixil would like to express our unyielding support to our winners whose expertise continue to raise the level of excellence across the architecture, interior design, real estate and property development sectors at global events like the IPA."

Patrick Speck, leader, Lixil Global Design, EMENA, speaking on customer-centric design to IPA attendees.

Patrick Speck, leader, Lixil Global Design, EMENA, commented, “Partnering with property industry leaders is a consumer-centric thinking multiplier for Lixil’s portfolio of brands and product design. By working together, it brings Lixil and our partners closer to consumers, the cultures and communities that we serve. For Lixil’s global design team, we combine this pooled knowledge with our own deep, thorough consumer research to create relevant, purpose-driven products and solutions that solve real-life challenges and add tangible value to consumers and the property industry.”

The Five Star winners are nominated where they will be re-judged to determine Asia’s best. The regional winner will again be re-judged with other regions of the world for the best overall international project. The results of this process will be announced at the international event of the IPA at the end of the year.

IDr. Ivy Almario, president of the Atelier Almario, noted, “This award is a validation of the quality of the design output of our atelier. Without a doubt, this international recognition will shine a light on the local (interior design) practice."

Norman Algeron, partner of HBA Manila, shared, “Winning this award means a lot to me and my team at HBA as it represents the result of not just our hard work, but the high level of collaboration involved in the design process. There are multiple benefits from this recognition which include motivation for our team to continue to explore creative solutions while understanding our clients’ need and adding value to the projects.”

Arch. Cathy Saldaña, managing director and president of PDP Architects, said, “The IPA Award validates our conceptual design that emanated from the client’s business DNA. The award also highlighted the importance and attention to details, and in this case, the detailed construction and fabrication drawings where each fin on the façade was carefully and individually drawn. Lastly, we celebrate 30 years of my architectural practice this year. What a gift! This distinction inspires our teams to do their best even further and challenges the ordinary design thinking process to leap towards extraordinary design analysis.”
