John Amores rampage fallout: Barbers proposes voluntary drug tests for college athletes
Voluntary drug testing.

This was Surigao del Norte 2nd district Rep. Robert Ace Barbers's proposal for college athletes after the veteran solon saw the viral rampage of Jose Rizal University (JRU) cager John Amores wherein the latter assaulted members of the basketball team that he played against.
"It appears that kid (Amores) has some anger issues," Barbers, chairman of the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, commented on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 10.
"In that light, all athletes in the UAAP and NCAA must undergo voluntary drug testing," he said. He didn't elaborate.
UAAP stands for University Athletic Association of the Philippines, while NCAA means National Collegiate Athletic Association. Both organizations are at least 85 years old.
JRU is a part of the NCAA. On Tuesday, the JRU Heavy Bombers trailed the College of St. Benilde Blazers by 20 points late in the fourth quarter when hard court officials totally lost control of the game resulting to Amores changing the opposing team's bench.
The fuming Amores knocked down Blazers Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis before he could be restrained and sent to the dugout.
