An operative of the Intelligence Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now facing dismissal from the service after he was arrested for allegedly blackmailing his former girlfriend using her private photos.
Patrolman Julius Ramos, 29, assigned to the Service Support Division, Intelligence Group (IG) at Camp Crame is now facing bth criminal and administrative charges, according to Police Brig. Gen. Warren de Leon, director of the PNP's Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG).
De Leon said they started to work on the case after the relatives of the victims sought IMEG assistance when Ramos allegedly threatened her ex-girlfriend that he would leak her private photos if she would not meet him in a motel.
"The complainant sought IMEG’s assistance after his erstwhile boyfriend, Patrolman Ramos, keeps on asking sexual favors, threatening her that a nude video of her will be published or will be uploaded to the social media," said de Leon.
The operation was immediately mapped out which resulted in the arrest of Ramos at All Star Traveller’s Inn Tongkong Mangga Cypress, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
De Leon said they are now conducting investigation to check on the veracity of the report that Ramos victimized his other former girlfriends using the same modus.
"According to the complainant, there were other female victims whom the suspect had relationship with experienced the same trauma she had gone through," said de Leon.
Seized from the policeman were two units’ android cellular phone, assorted identification cards to include the suspect’s issued PNP ID, a magazine with 14 live bullets.
