The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 3.4-kilometer farm-to-market road (FMR) in Pangasinan that will connect remote barangays to commercial neighborhoods.
In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan said the 3.4-kilometer FMR traversing Barangay Bakit-bakit in the Municipality of Rosales to Barangay San Miguel in Balungao is now open to motorist and farmers transporting corn and rice grains to the neighboring towns.

Funded with P30 million under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the project involved concreting a road that aims to reduce travel time from 25 minutes to ten minutes, benefitting even the nearby municipalities of Rosales, Sta. Maria, and Umingan.
The DPWH Pangasinan Third District Engineering Office has also installed 42 units of solar LED lights along the newly-completed road.
“We are targeting to complete more road projects in Pangasinan this year to support the local government’s initiative of attracting more tourists and spurring economic growth,” said Tan.
