QC police seize over P500K illegal drugs, nab 79 suspects in anti-criminality operations
Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized a total of P546,432 worth of illegal drugs and arrested 79 suspects in a series of anti-criminality operations conducted from Oct. 24 to 30.
The QCPD said on Monday, Oct. 31, that the suspects yielded more or less 79.4 grams of “shabu” valued at P540,396 and around 50.30 grams of alleged marijuana worth P6,036 during the 37 anti-illegal drug operations.
Police operations held on the same dates resulted in the arrest of 72 wanted persons, including 32 most wanted men.
The police also nabbed 95 violators in 30 anti-illegal gambling operations, confiscating P17,275 in bet money.
The QCPD added that 1,601 violators of city ordinances were fined during the period, while 6,583 were warned.
“Asahan po ng publiko na magiging masigasig ang kapulisan ng Kyusi sa pagpapatupad ng operasyon laban sa kriminalidad, ito ay bilang paghahanda upang matiyak na ligtas ang ating mamamayan sa kanilang paggunita ng Undas (The public can expect that the QC police will be diligent in implementing the operation against criminality, this is part of the preparation to ensure that our people are safe in their commemoration of Undas),” QCPD director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said.
