Muntinlupa LGU departments, police deployed at cemeteries for All Saints' Day

It’s all systems go for preparations of the Muntinlupa City government in ensuring safety and security at all cemeteries.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon said different city government offices, barangays and the police are deployed at cemeteries for the observance of All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1.

To assist cemetery visitors, there will be booths and outposts of barangay and city government offices including the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management, Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau, Muntinlupa City Engineering Department, Environmental Sanitation Center, City Security Office, Public Order and Safety Office.

The Muntinlupa police and Bureau of Fire Protection personnel are also deployed to assist people.

Employees of the Community Affairs and Development Office will be monitoring the situation while personnel from the City Health Office will “ensure the implementation of health protocols and to provide immediate medical care if needed,” he said.

Emergency vehicles including ambulances, fire trucks and police vehicles are deployed in cemeteries.

There will be free rides from the Susana Heights road for those going to the Everest Hills Memorial Park.

Biazon reminded people to follow health protocols and that they can only stay for three hours per tomb.

All private and public cemeteries in Muntinlupa will be open on Nov. 1 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Overnight stay and selling in cemeteries are not allowed.

The city government cautioned people from bringing those 12 years old and below and 60 years old and above to cemeteries.

Minimum health protocols will be strictly implemented such as wearing of face masks, physical distancing and handwashing or use of alcohol.

Banned items in cemeteries are alcoholic beverages, flammable materials, firearms and any pointed items such as knives or cutters, and videoke or sound systems that emit loud sounds.
