The city mayor awarded the Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation, Plan International, and Asmae - Association Soeur Emmanuelle Philippines with plaques of recognition on Monday, Nov. 7.

She thanked these organizations for their support to the city government of Manila in its goal to take care, preserve, and protect Manila's children.

Lacuna had earlier expressed concern over the rising number of cases of children with mental health problems in the country.

“Ang isang buwang selebrasyon ay naglalayon na maitanim sa kamalayan ng bawat isang Pilipino at mapanatili ang pagtaguyod at proteksyon ng mga karapatan ng bata (The month-long celebration aims to instill in the consciousness of every Filipino and sustain the promotion and protection of children's rights),” she said.

The city mayor cited that 2,308 out of 24,297 youth in daycare have been given educational assistance.

Apart from this, there were also 3,374 victims of child abuse who have been assisted.
