After playing the role of Lito on “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”, award-winning actor Richard Gutierrez has turned the tables by becoming the protagonist in his upcoming role on "Iron Heart"
At the recent media launch held at the Dolphy Theater in the ABS-CBN compound, members of the press witnessed the full trailer of director Richard Arellano and Lester Ong's newest project under Star Creatives.
According to Ong, making "Iron Heart" is different from their previous projects like La Luna Sangre and Bagani.
"In terms of storytelling, ito mas real and present, and in terms of action, it's totally different from vampires and warriors. Dito makikita natin ang modern way of gun fights, and modern hand-to-hand combats," director Ong said.
Aside from the creative team of director Richard, Lester, and Jay Fernando, joining them at the media launch was Gutierrez.
Also starring in the series are Maja Salvador, Meryll Soriano, Jake Cuenca, Sue Ramirez, Sofia Andres, Baron Giesler, Althea Ruedas, Dimples Romana, and Pepe Herrera.
Gutierrez shared how he prepared for the role of Apollo in the upcoming teleserye.
"Preparation-wise, it took us months before filming, so I had really a lot of time to prepare physically, mentally and entering a new show like this na alam kong magiging physically demanding siya and mentally demanding siya for me. So I always try to enter shows like this kumbaga fully prepared. Naka-mindset ako prepared yung katawan ko," Richard said.
Playing a special role in the series as Alexandra, Salvador also revealed what attracted her to accept the role for a short period.
"Madali lang po ako napapayag kasi of course it's under Star Creatives, and ang dami ko na rin nagawang magandang projects with them, and then nung sinabi na show ito with Richard sabi ko sige pakikinggan ko, because baka ito na yung tamang panahon para magsama kami ni Chard," she said.
From the action-packed trailer and the non-stop fighting scenes, Gutierrez thanked the crew members for helping him prepare for the project.
"Sa mga action-scenes alam ko medyo madugo, I'm very thankful na nandiyan yung mga directors ko, si direk Richard who helped me a lot sa pagbuo nung character and sina Ms. Des na nasa likod ko tumutulong sa akin, and we trust each other. It was really a process and hindi ko siya magagawa mag isa, I have the whole team behind me," he added.
The Creative head of the show Jay Fernando also said that Gutierrez was the actor they really had in mind to portray the role of Apollo.
"After five years of making 'Iron Heart' into reality, ever since it was Richard that we wanted, walang halong joke. Talagang it was Richard (Gutierrez) when we were doing the project," Jay said.
Coming this Nov. 14, Star Creatives brings out the best actor in this generation with Gutierrez on "Iron Heart".
