
A 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit Tarlac province on Tuesday evening, Nov. 8, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the quake struck 7 kilometers (km) southeast of Tarlac City, Tarlac at 10:30 p.m.
Moreover, it registered the tremor at a depth of about 184 km.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was "scarcely perceptible" at Intensity I in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
Its instruments also recorded the tremor at Intensity III in Infanta, Pangasinan and Intensity I in Bani, Pangasinan and Iba, Zambales.
The earthquake was tectonic, which means it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
Phivolcs advised the public to stay vigilant as aftershocks may occur.
