Carwash boy who stole SUV in Cagayan intercepted in Tuba, Benguet


CAMP TIRSO H. GADOR, Tuguegarao City – A carwash boy who stole a silver Ford Everest Titanium in Sanchez Mira town in Cagayan was intercepted by authorities in Tuba, Benguet on Monday, Nov. 7.

The Cagayan Police said that the driver brought his vehicle to ML Carwash to have it cleaned.

The driver left and gave the key to a certain Emerson Domingo, also a carwash boy, in the said establishment.

Emerson allegedly waited for the vehicle driver to return after car wash service but could not wait any longer.

Instead Emerson left the key to Hernand Zabaro, 24, a carwash boy and resident of Brgy. Malasin, Maconacon, Isabela.

The next day, Nov. 4, around 2:30 in the afternoon, the driver went to ML Carwash to pick up the car but it was missing.

The owner of the carwash was trying to reach the suspect through a cellular phone but failed.

The incident was immediately reported to the police and was flashed alarmed in nearby stations.

The Regional Highway Patrol Unit-Cordillera with the Tuba Municipal Police Station was able to intercept the suspect on Monday, Nov. 7, at around 2:00 p.m.

Prior to his arrest, around 1:40 in the afternoon, Nov. 7, the suspect gassed up at the Flying V at Kennon Road, Camp 3, Tuba Benguet and ran away without Paying worth P6,030.

The employee of Flying V reported to a police office and the operatives immediately took action.

That resulted in his immediate arrest as he could not show documents such as the driver's license and ownership of said vehicle.

The origin of the vehicle was immediately identified due to the "flash alarm" relayed by the Philippine National Police in Cagayan.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Sanchez Mira Police Station and is facing charges of estafa and carnapping cases.
