Over 28K 'Paeng'- affected families receive hot meals, drinking water from PH Red Cross


A total of 28,029 families who were affected by the recent tropical storm Paeng received hot meals from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

They were from Maguindanao, Zamboanga, Tawi-Tawi, Aklan, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Ilo-Ilo, Northern Samar, Antique, Cebu, Masbate, Romblon, Palawan, Bataan, Cagayan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Batangas, Catanduanes, Laguna, Zambales, Aurora, Pangasinan, Kalinga, Quezon, Nueva Viscaya, Marinduque, Isabela, Bulacan, Manila, Marikina, Rizal, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, and Pasig-Pateros, PRC said.

Two thousand four hundred ninety-nine bottles of clean drinking water were also distributed in Cagayan.

This was according to PRC's data as of Nov. 4.

Also, 1,455 bread loaves were dispensed to Paeng-affected families in Laguna and Pampanga.

"We at Philippine Red Cross (PRC) will continue boosting our efforts to address the nutrition needs of our kababayans in vulnerable situations," PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon said.

PRC noted that its relief assets and equipment such as payloaders, water tankers, and food trucks were positioned in areas severely hit by Paeng since Oct. 28.
