Award--winning film director Joel Lamangan has opened up about being strict on the movie set to instill discipline among actors.

During a story conference for his upcoming drama movie "Sa Kanto ng Langit at Lupa" held in Quezon City on Nov. 7, Lamangan revealed that he hate stars who are stupid. Scheduled for release in January 2023, "Sa Kanto ng Langit at Lupa" will be produced by 3:16 Media Network.

Pinapagalitan ko," Lamangan said. (The actors who don't do their duty in my shooting are afraid. First of all, they are stupid. That is the hardest because there is no cure. When the actor pretends that he knows, that is the fool. I scold him)

(It's good for them to say that I really don't know, point them out and I'll tell them. But if it's already take 24, of course you'll be angry. The producer will also be angry because the taping, the shooting, will be affected)

Lamangan added: "Pangalawa, yung mga artistang may call time ng 8 a.m. pero darating ng 12. May iba pa darating ng 4 in the afternoon. (Secondly, the stars who have a call time of 8 a.m. but arrive at 12. There are others who arrive at 4 in the afternoon. I will get angry and chase them with a knife. I also get paid there but I have to control them)

(If you're good, I'll tell you how good you are. But if you're not good and you're not professional, you won't like what you'll hear).

Lamangan, 70, said that he talks to his stars about the do's and don'ts on the set before they start shooting.

Masama yun," the director said. (Before starting, I talk to them, I tell them what to do and what not to do. I am angry with actors who look down on film crews. Those who look down on other people, they think they are superior. I don't want someone who doesn't know how to get along with people. That's bad.)

(Everyone I dealt with became famous. Stars should afraid of me if I don't pay attention to you. I don't care what you do, that is, you don't exist to me. When I deal with you, that means you have the potential. You won't like the words that come out of my mouth).

Lamangan revealed that he's honest about wannabes who really do not have the potential to become stars.

(I have advised many people not to join showbiz anymore, just be a waiter. They are thankful and are now head waiters. I really tell them. Hey, you're just wasting your time here. Why don't you go abroad and work as a waiter? I help them and I don't want to give them the illusion that they will be famous. I pity the parents who approach me and apply their children to become movie stars).
