Caloocan gov’t starts distribution of bags, schools supplies to elementary students

The Caloocan City government on Monday, Nov. 7, began distributing bags and school supplies to the students in the city’s public elementary schools.

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan led the distribution of the bags with notebooks, pencils, erasers, and rulers to Kinder to Grade 6 students from Bagong Barrio Elementary School, Morning Breeze Elementary School, and Andres Bonifacio Elementary School.

Malapitan said the distribution of bags and school supplies to public schools is scheduled for the whole month of November in time for the full implementation of the face-to-face classes as ordered by the Department of Education (DepEd).

“Ako’y naniniwala na sa pamamagitan ng mga ginigawa nating programang ito, malaki ang naitutulong natin sa edukasyon ng inyong mga anak (I believe that through our programs, we are giving big help for the education of your children),” Malapitan said.

The mayor said DepEd will guide the children, but the parents should also do their part to help them finish their education.

He advised the parents to make sure that their children are going to school.

“Dito sa Caloocan, titiyakin natin wala pa ring dapat maiiwan pagdating sa larangan ng edukasyon (Here in Caloocan, we will make sure that no one will be left behind when it comes to education),” the mayor added.
