More than 10,000 students, teachers and non-teaching personnel have been vaccinated in schools in Taguig.
The Taguig City government joined the “PinasLakas” vaccination campaign and implemented the “School Tour: One-Stop Shop Bakuna” for children aged five to 17 years old.
The city government said the total represents the number of those vaccinated in schools since Aug. 15 with the resumption of face-to-face classes.
The Covid-19 vaccination drive has been implemented in 23 elementary and high schools in Taguig.
More schools will be included in the vaccination drive for students and education personnel aimed at ensuring their safety.
The “PinasLakas” campaign aims to vaccinate 90 percent of senior citizens and increase booster coverage of all eligible population to 50 percent by targeting individuals from various communities including schools, marketplaces, and transportation terminals.
As of Oct. 28, the Taguig City government has administered a total of 2.12 million vaccines. Of the total, 869,922 are fully vaccinated and 915,159 have received the first dose. In addition, 327,066 persons received their first booster shot, and 39,739 got their second booster.
