The victim was identified as Remart Rebucas, 26, of Barangay Minapasok.

Calatrava police chief Maj. Lumyaen Lidawan said that Rebucas was celebrating the birthday of his grandmother at home when the suspect, 27-year-old Junjun Aligioho, suddenly arrived and shot him.

Lidawan said that Rebucas suffered a lone gunshot wound in his left chest and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Lidawan said the victim came home on Nov. 1 and celebrated his birthday on Nov. 3.

Lidawan said the incident was considered a crime of passion since the suspect allegedly got jealous on the victim who had a relationship with the suspect’s former live-in partner while they were in Manila.

The victim who was working as a security guard in Manila had already ended his relationship with the girl, added Lidawan.

Aligioho, who is at large, will be charged for murder, according to Lidawan.
