Partial remains of a missing 24-year-old Filipino-American were discovered on Jackson Road in Plymouth, California, the Amador County Sheriff's Office in Plymouth, California confirmed.
Alexis Gabe was reported missing in January and is believed to have been killed by her ex-boyfriend, Marshall Curtis Jones, 27, in Oakley, California.
According to the Amador County Sheriff's Office, they received an anonymous tip on Thursday, Nov. 3, about the discovery of human remains of the victim's body.
“After the search was completed, a board certified Forensic Odontologist, utilizing known dental records from the victim, was able to identify the remains as belonging to missing person, Alexis Gabe,” the sheriff's office said in a statement.
“All evidence collected by the Amador County Sheriff's Office was turned over to Oakley Police Department detectives and Coroner jurisdiction has been turned over to the Contra Costa County Coroner's Office to determine manner and cause of death," it added.
Crime scene investigators, local authorities, as well as cadaver dogs, assisted in searching the area where part of Gabe’s body was found.
It said the victim's dental records matched the forensic examination conducted with the recovered human remains.
The City of Oakley, in a separate statement, said they believe the suspect scattered the other body parts in several areas.
It also added there will be no extensions of reward funds for any future remains that may be found.
“Due to the condition of Alexis’ remains, we realized there may never be a full recovery of her,” it stated.
In June, the suspect was killed by federal officers attempting to serve him with an arrest warrant in Kent.
