PDEA seizes over P900,000 worth of high-grade marijuana in Parañaque operation


Government anti-narcotics operatives seized more than PP925,000 worth of high grade marijuana (kush) during a controlled delivery operation in Parañaque City on Friday afternoon, Nov. 4.

In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the operation also resulted in the arrest of the male claimant of the high-grade marijuana.

The suspect was identified as Kristoffer Angelo A. Delgado, 25. He was collared after receiving the package containing kush in Barangay Don Bosco.

PDEA reports disclosed that the package containing the illegal substances came from California, USA and arrived at the Port of Clark on Oct. 24, 2022.

"The package was declared as sweater but later on discovered containing dangerous drugs when it underwent x-ray and K9 inspection", the PDEA team leader said.

Anti-narcotics authorities later discovered that the package contained more or less 588 grams of kush, 45 vape cartridges with marijuana, one national identification card (ID) and a cellphone.

Delgado faces charges for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’

The operation was carried out by the PDEA Central Luzon, Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, PDEA-National Capital Region (NCR) and the local police. (Chito A. Chavez)
