The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) conferred on Parañaque City 1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez its Gawad Parangal, the agency’s top recognition for local chief executives who have made important contributions to the development of cooperatives in their localities.
The award is given to local chief executives nationwide, but only three mayors in the National Capital Region (NCR) were recognized this year.
Rep. Olivarez was cited for his contributions to cooperative development during his term as the city mayor from 2013 to 2022.
“We are very honored by this recognition, and we thank the Cooperative Development Authority for continuously giving inspiration to our cooperatives through programs like the Gawad Parangal,” Olivarez said.
The Gawad Parangal Certificate of Recognition was handed to Parañaque City Cooperative Development Office chief Josie Salomon during the awarding ceremony on Oct. 28.
Solomon presented the plaque to Olivarez during a courtesy call on the congressman on Nov. 3.
