47 teachers, bus driver injured in Bataan accident

ORANI, Bataan – A service bus of the Department of Education (DepEd) carrying 47 teachers fell off the cliff in Barangay Tala here on Saturday morning, Nov. 5.

All the passengers who were teachers from different schools in Quezon City sustained injuries, said a report from the Police Regional Office 3.

The driver of the DepEd service bus, Marcelino Oliva, 62, a resident of SJDM, Bulacan, also sustained injuries.

Initial report revealed that the bus which was heading for Brgy. Pag-Asa, Orani, Bataan, fell off the cliff after its brake malfunctioned while negotiating a sharp curve on the highway.

The incident is still under investigation.
