ILOILO CITY – The death toll from severe tropical storm ‘’Paeng’’ in Western Visayas went up to 36 with six persons still missing on Friday, Nov. 4.
Majority of the fatalities were killed in flashflood and landslides.
The province of Antique still has the most number of casualties with 13 followed by Capiz and Iloilo provinces with a total of eight.
Seven died in Aklan province.
Four of the six missing persons are from Antique and one each in Aklan and Negros Occidental province.
The Western Visayas-Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (RDRRMO) said more that almost 1.48 million persons were affected by Paeng.
