Observance of Undas in Cordillera generally peaceful -- PNP

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The observance of Undas 2022 in the Cordillera Region was generally peaceful, with no ‘major crimes’ or untoward incidents that could disrupt the people from visiting their departed loved ones in cemeteries amid Typhoon Paeng.

"So far, in our monitoring through the Regional Operations Division, our office has not received any reports of major crimes or incidents in relation to Undas," said Brigadier General Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera.

Bazar said the peaceful observance of the Undas 2022 can be attributed to the cooperation of the public and the help of the force multipliers and other government agencies in manning the different Police Assistance Desks (PADs) established in major thoroughfare and cemeteries.

"Besides the deployed personnel, we have been successful in guarding the cemeteries due to the cooperation of our countrymen with the help of force multipliers and various government agencies, especially the Local Government Units," Bazar said.

Days before the All Saints’ Day, Bazar had instructed the maximum deployment of PROCOR cops in all cemeteries region-wide to ensure the security of the public as the annual celebration coincided with a long weekend and in anticipation of the influx of tourists.
