Malabon City police welcome new chief

Police Col. Amante Daro formally took over as new chief of the Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) during turnover rites at Barangay Catmon Multi-Purpose Hall on Thursday, Nov. 3.

The ceremony was attended by Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, Vice Mayor Ninong dela Cruz, acting Northern Police District (NPD) director Col. Ponce Rogelio Penones Jr., and other police officials.

Col. Daro replaced Col. Albert Barot who had led the city police force since May 24, 2021.

Prior to his appointment as Malabon City police chief, Daro served as Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) commander for Region 2, 3, and 4-A, PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) chief of staff, Regional Intelligence Division (Region 3) commander, and Manila Police District station commander.

Daro thanked the NDP director, the former city police chief, and the city mayor for welcoming him and trusting him to lead the over 400 city cops who maintain Malabon’s peace and order.

The new city police chief said he expects his personnel to display the highest state of discipline by being in their respective assignments on time, wearing proper uniform, and rendering public safety services for the residents.

“I expect everyone to give your utmost best and be better than yesterday, everyday, to be able to provide the best police service and public safety services that our constituents truly deserve,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Sandoval thanked Barot for his services to the city as she promised to fully support the city police for their needs in performing their duty.
