MB Daily News Update: Marcos declares state of calamity in 4 regions

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declared a state of calamity in four regions in the country, which were hardest hit by severe tropical storm Paeng.

This, as the death toll from “Paeng” at 121, and those affected at more than 700,000, as reported by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The Department of Education (DepEd) reported that Wednesday’s start of full, five-day face-to-face classes in public schools have gone well, despite some misgivings created by a Tuesday directive that the wearing of face masks by students in schools may now be voluntary.

Meanwhile, in the Percy Lapid killing, 13 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were included as persons of interest in the ambush-murder of the broadcaster.
