Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy and Jaymark “JanaaQT” Lazaro showed the way as Geek Fam Indonesia eliminated RRQ Sena, 2-1, in the first round of the MPL Invitational on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The Filipino imports formed the one-two punch in the Game 1 and Game 3 triumphs to set up a second round matchup against Malaysian team Orange Esports which earlier defeated Cambodian champion Burn X Flash.
In Game 1, Geek Fam punished the double-assassin lineup that featured the Aamon and Gusion of RRQ Sena with the relentless aggression and jungle invasion from Baloyskie on the Mathilda and JanaaQT on the jungle Karina.
RRQ Sena though managed to defend the initial siege to put up some scare in the late game but JanaaQT just coolly secured the final Lord in the final objective team fight to draw the series first blood, 15-14, with Baloyskie setting the tempo with a 3-3-11 line.
JanaaQT then took charge in Game 3 as his Gusion pick helped his team buck a slow start to put the dagger to the heart of the Indonesian crew. The back-and-forth winner-take-all ultimately boiled down to the final Lord clash when Baloyskie’s Bloody Hunt ultimate of the Franco caught the enemy roaming Chou, triggering the messy team fight that led to Geek Fam scoring a wipeout on the RRQ’s second team.
JanaaQT finished with an impeccable 5-0-5 KDA on the Gusion – a fitting bounce back from Geek Fam’s Game 2 loss when he was visibly outplayed by RRQ’s jungler Aether who ran wild on the Hayabusa pick with a 9-1-3 KDA while Warlord provided support with a 4-0-10 line on the Yve.
