Tropical depression Queenie has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) but may still bring light to moderate rains in parts of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The LPA was located 420 kIlometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, said PAGASA in its latest weather update on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
"This remnant low will continue moving generally northwestward and may dissipate in the next 12 hours," the state weather bureau said.
PAGASA said that the LPA may still trigger "light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Caraga and Davao Oriental" until Wednesday morning, Nov. 2.
"Under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazard as identified in hazard maps and in localities with significant antecedent rainfall," it said.
"The remnant low is unlikely to bring rough seas over the coastal waters of the country which may result to risky conditions to mariners," it added.
