The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced that it is accepting donations for families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.
In a social media post, the DSWD said that it is accepting in-kind or cash donations.
“Sa mga nais magbahagi ng tulong sa mga nasalanta at naapektuhan ng Bagyong #PaengPH, bukas po ang buong opisina ng Kagawaran ng Kagalingan at Pagpapaunlad Panlipunan sa buong bansa para tumanggap ng mga donasyon (For those who want to provide aid for those who have been affected by Typhoon #PaengPH, all offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development nationwide are open to accept donations),” the DSWD said.
The agency said that affected families are in need of food items that are non-perishable with longer shelf-life such as canned goods and ready to eat food, rice, and bottled water, as well as clothes.
The DSWD is also accepting tents and tarpaulins which will be used as “temporary safe havens for families.”
Displaced families are also in need of sleeping essentials such as plastic mats, pillows, blankets, and mosquito nets. Hygiene kits are also needed such as toothbrush and toothpaste, bath soap and shampoo, bath towel, laundry soap, feminine wash and sanitary pad, alcohol or sanitizer, and diaper.
