The Philippines only reported 676 new Covid-19 infections on All Saints’ Day, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed.

Based on the latest DOH update, active cases nationwide went down to 19,340.

In the recent 14 days, Metro Manila logged the most number of cases with 4,817, followed by Calabarzon with 2,977, Central Luzon with 1,736, Western Visayas with 1,665, and Davao Region with 1,158.

The country’s recovery tally jumped to 3,921,708, while the death toll stood at 64,109. Since the pandemic started, the DOH has already recorded 4,005,157 confirmed cases.

The DOH reminded local government units (LGUs) to still maintain the implementation of various health protocols to prevent further transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

We are calling on our LGUs to intensify the implementation of our strategies and policies against Covid-19 and other diseases such as vaccination, isolation, physical distancing, and ventilation, especially now that we have relaxed our masking mandates),” said DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire.

The DOH still reminded the public of the importance of face mask use.

As for the public, now that we can remove our masks in different settings, it is very important that we learn to assess our risk before removing our mask),” said Vergeire.
