A suspected criminal gang leader was arrested along with seven other drug dealers and nine wanted felons during the fourth day of Bulacan Police Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) on Monday, Oct. 31.
Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said suspect Jannel Contreras alias "Miyaw", 33, alleged leader of the notorious Contreras Criminal Gang, was arrested by the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) in a drug bust in Brgy. Sta. Ines, Plaridel, Bulacan at about 5:40 p.m. on Monday.
Contreras was tagged by the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) as a high-value individual. His gang was reportedly responsible for robbery hold-up and carnapping incidents in the province of Bulacan,
Recovered from Contreras were four sachets of suspected shabu worth P34,000.
In another buy-bust operation conducted by Malolos City police in Barangay San Agustin, suspect Jay R. Domaso was arrested. He yielded P68,000 worth of alleged shabu and a fake gun.
A seires of anti-drug operations conducted by Norzagaray, Pulilan and San Miguel police resulted in the confiscation of P43,000 worth of shabu and arrest of six alleged drug peddlers.
Meanwhile, manhunt operations launched by the 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in Balagtas, San Rafael, Bustos, City of San Jose del Monte, and Guiguinto led to the arrest of nine wanted persons.
