A construction worker was stabbed and critically wounded by two men reportedly out of jealousy in Pasay City on Monday, Oct. 31.

Col. Byron Tabernilla, Pasay City police chief, said the victim, Rheven Pasigian Pelayo, 25, suffered two stab wounds in the body and is now in critical condition at the Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH).

Police identified the suspects as Michael Tasok Tambod, 28, helper, and Ruel Nedera, 32, laborer. They are now detained at the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) custodial facility for frustrated murder.

Tabernilla said the incident happened around 1:00 a.m. on Taft Avenue in Pasay City.

The city police chief said Tambod was arrested at his work place in Baclaran, while Nedera was nabbed at his house in Pasay City.

Tabernilla said prior to the stabbing incident, Pelayo was walking along Taft Ave. when the two suspects confronted him, triggering a heated argument.

During the confrontation, witnesses said Tambod pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim twice in the body.
