Thirdy Ravena's San-En repeats over Dwight Ramos' Hokkaido

Thirdy Ravena’s San-En NeoPhoenix completed a repeat over Dwight Ramos and the Levanga Hokkaido, 93-80, in the 2022-23 B.League season on Sunday, Oct. 9 (Manila time).

Ravena bounced back from his lackluster performance in the NeoPhoenix’s 76-57 victory over Levanga in their first meeting, this time dropping an all-around performance of 10 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Ramos, though, still outplayed Thirdy, finishing with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists which, just like in their first game went futile as Hokkaido couldn’t sustain its solid start in the contest.

Hokkaido actually managed to keep in step with San-En in the opening quarter and even took a 19-12 advantage after a jumper from Ramos.

A 10-0 run to end the period however gave the NeoPhoenix the lead and eventually the momentum as they finally tore the game wide open in the second quarter limiting the Hokkaido to just 10 points while dropping 23 to take a commanding 45-29 lead.

Hokkaido never recovered from there as Yante Maten showed the way for San-En with 24 points and eight rebounds.

Thirdy’s elder brother Kiefer Ravena also came out victorious as the Shiga Lakes outlasted Niigata Albeirex BB in double-overtime, 107-100.

Kiefer finished with 11 points, five assists and four rebounds including a huge triple with 58 seconds left in regulation to tie 80-all and send the game to the first extra period. The additional five minutes however were still not enough as both teams still found themselves knotted 89-apiece.

Ivan Buba then took charge for the Lakes in the second overtime, finishing with 39 points and 14 rebounds.

Ray Parks, on the other hand, fired blanks as the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins absorbed their first taste of defeat, 91-82, at the hands of the Ryukyu Golden Kings. He only had 12 points and two rebounds while missing all of his three attempts from downtown while Coty Clarke paced Nagoya with 15.

Jay Washington rode the bench as it was Allen Durham who led the way for the Kings with 22 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Matthew Wright, meanwhile, missed his second straight game in Kyoto Hannaryz’s 73-58 loss to FE Nagoya.

In B2 League, Jordan Heading shot the lights out with seven three pointers as Nagasaki Verca routed Kagawa Five Arrows, 95-74. Heading exploded for 27 points and seven assists.
