Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Special Operations Unit (DSOU) and Women and Children Concern Section (DWCCS) arrested three suspects for human trafficking and rescued eight female victims in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Maj. Sheryl Bautista, DWCCS chief, identified the suspects as Casten Alipayan Bullido, 50, resident of Brgy. Balubaran, Malinta in Valenzuela City; Lydia Isio Vergara, 51; and Joselito Francisco Lazo, 45, both from Quezon City.
According to the police report, members of DWCCS and DSOU set an entrapment operation against the suspects after they received a report from an informant about the alleged human trafficking activities along Commonwealth Avenue, Brgy. Holy Spirit.
The suspects were collared in a bar located at 17B St. Vincent in Brgy. Holy Spirit at around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday after they received a P500 partial payment in exchange of a lady from a police officer who posed as a customer.
The suspects are currently under the custody of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDMD) at Camp Karingal in Quezon City.
Meanwhile, the eight female victims were brought to the Quezon City Social Services Development Department (SSDD).
The suspects will be charged for violation of R.A. 9208 or the Anti-Human Trafficking in Person Act of 2003, police said.
