The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently working on the construction of a new two-storey building of the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Ballesteros, Cagayan that will serve as a satellite office of the Cagayan Provincial Prosecution Office.
In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region 2 Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas said the building will have a total floor area of 1,750 square meters and will also serve as a workspace for prosecutors of the DOJ catering litigants from the towns of Abulug, Allacapan, Ballesteros, Lasam, and Pamplona as well as barangays in Luna and Apayao.
“DPWH is glad to provide assistance to the Department of Justice in making legal services more accessible and convenient for northern towns of Cagayan,” Canlas said.
A total of P12-million was allocated under the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA) for the construction of the facility.
