ILOILO CITY – Two policemen helped a woman deliver her baby at her home in Sibunag, Guimaras on Friday, Oct. 7.
Sibunag police chief Lt. Val Cambel and Corporal Joe Ben Moleño were on patrol when a woman asked them to help her niece in labor.
They went to their house but the mother said she might not make it to the hospital or the nearest rural health center as her baby will come out soon.
Cambel did not hesitate and assisted the woman until she gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
The new mother thanked the police for their efforts.
The Police Regional Office-6 said Western Visayas lawmen have been helping women give birth.
Last year, three policemen helped a homeless woman give birth in Jaro, Iloilo. One of them adopted the child.
