1,429 active Covid-19 cases recorded in Western Visayas

ILOILO CITY -- After months of low Covid-19 cases, the Western Visayas region is under the virus' onslaught again.

The Department of Health (DOH-6) has recorded 79 new cases on Sunday, Oct. 9, bringing to 1,429 the active cases in the region.

All six provinces and two highly urbanized cities have active Covid-19 cases.

Based on DOH-6’s Covid-19 daily bulletin, the province of Iloilo has the most number of active Covid-19 cases with 625.

Iloilo City came in second with 324 active cases while Negros Occidental province followed at number three with 236 active cases.

There are also 77 active cases in Capiz province; 57 in Bacolod City; 48 in Antique province; 44 in Aklan province and 18 in Guimaras province.

Meanwhile, there are 46 new recoveries across the region.
