Speaker on VP Sara's 1st 100 days: 'Strong leadership, firm political will'
House Speaker Martin Romualdez cited on Saturday, Oct. 8 the "strong leadership and firm political will" of Vice President Sara Duterte, who displayed these qualities during her first 100 days in office.

"We congratulate Vice President Sara Duterte on her first 100 days in office. As concurrent Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), VP Sara led the DepEd in the historic resumption of face-to-face classes of students nationwide after over two years of lockdown and online schooling, a feat that is very difficult to accomplish," Romualdez said in a statement.
Duterte's first 100 days in office lapsed on Friday, Oct. 7.
She was among the first officials to be named to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s Cabinet, taking on the responsibilities of education secretary.
"I also congratulate her for the successful implementation of pro-poor programs, including the Libreng Sakay, extending medical, and burial assistance to the indigents, distribution of school supplies and hygiene kits to deserving students," added Romualdez, Duterte's party-mate over at the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).
"VP Sara's strong leadership and firm political will made all this possible, putting in place safety measures and health protocols for students, teachers and school personnel," said the Leyte 1st district congressman.
