
The Philippines on Saturday, Oct. 8, recorded 2,197 new Covid-19 infections, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.
The tally of active cases nationwide was at 27,065.
The regions with the most infections in the past 14 days were Metro Manila with 12,587 cases, followed by Calabarzon with 5,331, Central Luzon with 2,811, Davao region with 1,372, and Western Visayas with 844.
Covid-19 recovery tally was at 3,875,570 while the death toll stood at 63,230.
Saturday's cases pushed the country's caseload to 3,965,865.
In a related development, 60 indigenous people in Sitio Camachile, Floridablanca, Pampanga were vaccinated against Covid-19 recently, the DOH said.
Aside from Covid-19 vaccination, the DOH also conducted routine immunization in the area.
"Maliban sa mga bakuna laban sa Covid-19, hinihikayat din po namin kayong magpabakuna laban sa ibang mga sakit kagaya ng tigdas, bulutong, at iba pa," said DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire.
"Libre rin po itong hatid ng ating lokal na pamahalaan. Para maiwasan natin, lalo higit ng ating mga kabataan, ang pagkakasakit, magpabakuna na po tayo!," she added.
