2 minor siblings die in Quezon fire

PLARIDEL, Quezon – Two minor siblings died in a fire that gutted their house in Sitio Libis, Barangay Tanauan here on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Police identified the victims as Reynan and Lorenzo dela Cruz.

The victims were trapped when the fire broke out at around 4 p.m.

Their 22-year-old mother, Lorelie, was away, harvesting vegetables in their farm.

Their house was already on fire when she returned.

Lorelie said the fire might have been caused by the cigarette lighter her son was playing.

The fire spread quickly because their house is made of light materials.

Tanauan is a far-flung and mountainous barangay in this town sandwiched between Gumaca and Atimonan, Quezon.
