2 Anakpawis members yield in Cagayan

Two members of Anakpawis surrendered to the police in Rizal, Cagayan on Friday, Oct. 7.

They were identified as “Lito,” 51, a laborer, and “Estong,” 73, farmer, both residents of Rizal, Cagayan.

They told police that in 2016, an alias “Buting Adviento” told them that they will be given financial assistance worth P5,000 each from Anakpawis.

However, instead of receiving assistance, Advento encouraged them to join Anakpawis.

Advento ordered them to write their full name, address, and signatures on the form provided by the party-list group to get the assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Region 2 (Cagayan Valley).

According to the duo, since 2016, they have been part of the organization and participated in several activities.

They were convinced to surrender through the efforts of the Rizal police led by Major Magno Catubag.
