BAGUIO CITY – The City Health Services Office reported that the Covid-19 positivity rate here dropped in the past two weeks from 5.19 percent to 4.66 percent as the Summer Capital continues to be a ‘low risk’ destination.

Dr. Rowena Galpo, city health officer, informed Mayor Benjamin Magalong that the city’s average daily attack rate dipped during the period from 6.5 to 2.6 per 100,000.
Galpo said the city also had a Covid-19 two-week growth rate of -57 percent to -14.67 percent. The city also saw a weekly infection rate of 1.10 to 0.80, with the average tests done also on the decline from 296 to 240 during the period.
She said that as of Oct. 3, the city’s hospital critical utilization rate was from 10.55 percent to 8.44 percent while its isolation facility bed occupancy slightly increased from 6.54 to 6.81 percent.
Galpo revealed that Omicron remains the dominant Covid-19 variant affecting 67 percent of cases in the city as of Sept. 29 this year, with Delta affecting 18 percent; Alpha 10 percent and the Beta variant infecting five
Galpo also reported that the Covid-19 vaccination status as of Oct. 3 this year saw a total of 355,000 individuals who had at least one dose of vaccine and that 340,000 are deemed fully vaccinated (with two doses).
She said that individuals who had their first booster shots numbered 151,987 while those who took their second booster doses numbered to 23,777.
Galpo has urged those eligible, especially persons belonging to the vulnerable sectors like seniors and individuals with comorbidities, to complete their booster shots as added protection against the ongoing pandemic.
As of Oct.3, the city has a total vaccine supply of 34,609 doses composed of 15,010 Pfizer shots (for 5 to 11 years old); 12,5888, Pfizer (12 years old and above); and 7,011 Sinovac doses.
