3 dead as car plummets into irrigation canal in Isabela

RAMON, Isabela – Three persons drowned when the car they were riding in plunged into an irrigation canal in Purok 5, Barangay Ambatali here on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

RESCUERS retrieve a car that plummeted into an irrigation canal in Ramon, Isabela with three people on board on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The Isabela police led by Col. Julio Go identified the victims as Ruel Galut, Junior Budilla, 36, and Zyra Janine Galut, 13, all residents of Pinto, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.

Witnesses told police that their vehicle was speeding and skidded off upon reaching the curved part of the road and fell into the canal.

The victims failed to get out and drowned.

The incident was only reported the following day, Thursday, Oct. 6, when local rescue personnel and concerned citizens helped in retrieving the victims trapped inside their car.
