CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police arrested a suspected drug pusher and confiscated shabu valued at P268,500 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Santo Angel Sur, Santa Cruz, this province, on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
The Police Regional Office 4-A identified the suspect as Rainier Alfonso Alvarez, alias “Butot.”
Alvarez yielded five plastic sachets and a knot-tied plastic bag containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 39.5 grams and a street value of P268,500.
PRO 4-A chief Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the Santa Cruz Municipal Police Station and Laguna Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit for arresting Alvarez who was involved in illegal activities and selling of illicit drugs in Santa Cruz.
Nartatez said the campaign against illegal drugs is one of the PRO 4-A's seven priority thrust programs aligned with the MKK=K thrust program of PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo S Azurin Jr.
