DOH records 2,562 new Covid-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday, Oct. 6, recorded 2,562 new Covid-19 cases.

The new cases pushed the number of active infections nationwide to 26,380.

Metro Manila logged the most cases in the recent 14 days with 13,582, followed by Calabarzon with 5,523, Central Luzon with 2,886, Davao region with 1,377, and Soccsksargen with 737.

Since the pandemic started two years ago, the Philippines' cumulative tally of confirmed cases was at 3,961,349.

Of the total, 3,871,820 cases were tagged as recoveries while 63,149 people died.
