Carlos Yulo will have a five-day training camp in Paris, France in preparation for the 41st FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships scheduled Oct. 29 to Nov. 6 in Liverpool, England.

The training camp will run from Oct. 19 to 24, giving Yulo ample time to prepare for the world tilt where he is expected to match or eclipse his one-gold, one-silver medal haul in the previous edition in Kitakyushu, Japan last year.
Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) President Cynthia Carrion also said the camp also allows Yulo to acclimatize for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“This will be a great opportunity for Caloy,” said Carrion during Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC) People Sports Conversations online program Thursday, Oct. 6.
In Paris and at the world championships, Yulo will be joined by his long-time Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya and physiotherapist Junpei Kono.
Yulo hopes to redeem himself in his pet event, floor exercise, at the world championships where he finished fifth the previous edition.
He also seeks to retain his gold medal in vault and surpass his silver-medal feat in parallel bars.
Yulo is coming off a gold-medal finish in the recent All-Japan Senior Championships but skipped the rest of the events after suffering a bad fall on the horizontal bar that resulted in a minor hand injury.
But Carrion said Kugimiya assured her Yulo’s injury is only minor and he is fully recovered in time for the world championships.
