On National Teachers Day, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has expressed appreciation to all educators around the country for their "invaluable service," especially with the post-pandemic reopening of face-to-face classes.

"Let this day be a culmination of a month-long celebration in which we acknowledge the many sacrifices that our teachers make to mold our students and prepare them so they can achieve their dreams in life," Marcos said in his message for the National Teachers Day on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

"This is also a good opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for their invaluable service to the nation as we safely reopen our schools and bring forth a new era of learning amidst the post-pandemic world," he added.

He further honored teachers nationwide for continuously ensuring the "youth's holistic development as they aspire to be agents of change within their respective communities and beyond."

"I trust that, with the help of our teachers, our country will grow stronger with every Filipino becoming more capable of building a better future for all," he said.

The President also said that the celebration may also motivate those who dream to be "agents of genuine unity and empowerment."

"May this celebration not only inspire present teachers as they continue their efforts in shaping the lives of our young learners, but also motivate those whose dream is to be such agents of genuine unity and empowerment," he said.

This year's celebration of National Teachers' Month is dubbed “Gurong Pilipino: Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino (Filipino Teachers: Pride of the Filipino Nation).”
