Here's what Arroyo thinks of PBBM's 1st 100 days in office

House Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has praised President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. for "reassuring" Filipinos on the issue of the economy as well as for the latter's "calm and thoughtful" demeanor as leader.

Arroyo, Pampanga's 2nd district representative, gave this assessment of Marcos on the latter's upcoming 100th day in office as Philippine president.

"I think a president’s first 100 days serves twp purposes: first, to give the nation and the world a message to inspire confidence relative to the area of greatest concern; and second, to give the Filipino people an idea of the leadership style of the president," Arroyo, who is herself a former president of the country, said in a statement Wednesday, Oct. 5.

"In President Marcos, Jr.'s case, in the wake of the pandemic and global tensions in Ukraine and Taiwan, the adverse economic impact of these crises is topmost on most minds," she said.

"President Marcos, Jr. reassured everyone by assembling an impressive economic team that has been universally praised," noted the president emeritus of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party.

"For the second purpose --again, the President has projected himself well as a calm, thoughtful leader who is true to his promise to promote unity and be a president for all," Arroyo added.
