Falling rocks render Cordon-Aurora boundary road in Quirino impassable

CABARROGUIS, Quirino -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said the Cordon-Aurora boundary road in Barangay Disimungal, Nagtipunan, Quirino is still closed to traffic to all types of vehicles.

This is due to road slip and falling rocks.

Wilson Valdez, DPWH Region 2 information officer, said that the alternate route going to Quirino Province from Aurora is alongside A. Castaneda-Maria Aurora-San Luis Road (ACMASAL ROAD)-Pantabangan-Canili-Basal-Baler Road.

Motorists are advised to take safety precautions while travelling the alternate route.

Travel advisories were installed at strategic locations in all entry points.

Equipment and maintenance crews are on site to continue clearing activities and monitor the affected road section, according to the Quirino District Engineering Office.
