AWOL cop wanted for murder falls in Nueva Ecija

CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Lawmen arrested an AWOL (Absence without Official Leave) policeman wanted for murder in Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija on Monday, Oct. 3.

Police Regional Office-3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar R. Pasiwen identified the suspect as Staff Sgt. Edgar de Guzman, 52, of Barangay San Isidro, Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.

Santo Domingo police arrested De Guzman on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Ana Marie Joson-Viterbo, Presiding Judge, Branch 24, Regional Trial Court, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, dated Feb. 5, 2015 for murder with no recommended bail.

The PRO-3 said that the suspect was involved in a murder case in 2015. However, the PRO-3 did not elaborate on the incident.

Pasiwen said there will be no let-up in the hunt for wanted persons.

“We will have no let-up in our campaign against wanted persons and we will keep on conducting manhunt operations to put these absconders in jail," Pasiwen said.
